Be Your Own Coach is filled with exercises and practices that you can use to coach yourself. In this section we will continue to offer you more practices to work with the ideas in the book.

If you happen to be a corporate coach, these practices will provide you with alternatives to use in coaching courses you may be teaching using our book. You may also use these practices with your in-house coaching clients.

If you are an independent professional coach, you can use these practices as a supplement to the ones offered in the book.

COACHING OPENING TO FULFILL

MORE OF YOUR POTENTIAL - Part 1 of 2

One of the coaching openings we named in Part 1 of Be Your Own Coach, is when you want to fulfill more of your potential.  One way to gain insight into your potential is to identify what your natural talents are.

  1. Make a list of your talents and gifts. Try to put at least five items on your list.
  2. Make a list of five people who know you well, personally or professionally.
  3. Call or meet with each of the five people and ask them what talents they observe in you.  Write down their responses.
  4. Put all the lists together and look for themes or overlaps. Write out a new list of the talents that were mentioned by more than one person.
